Let's talk about the issues that matter. This is what I am working on to make Licking County stronger.

EDUCATION
In Ohio, public tax dollars are constitutionally required to fund only public schools. Despite this, EdChoice Expansion Voucher Recipients use these funds without state oversight or accountability. According to Article 6, Section 2 of the Ohio Constitution, the General Assembly must ensure a thorough and efficient system of common schools through taxation or other means, supplemented by the school trust fund. Importantly, no religious group or sect is permitted to have any exclusive right to or control over any portion of the state's school funds. [1]In 2025, Ohio allocated $1.09 billion to private school vouchers, including $492.8 million directed specifically toward Education Choice Expansion Voucher Providers. This marks the second consecutive year of nearly universal school voucher availability in the state, showing substantial growth in the EdChoice program. EdChoice Expansion vouchers aim to help families afford private school tuition, and the program is especially popular among those already attending private schools.
[2] Notably, many recipients of these vouchers do not fall into the low-income category. The top scholarship amounts are $6,166 for grades K-8 and $8,408 for grades 9–12, with eligibility based on income up to 450% of the Federal Poverty Level ($140,400 for a family of four in 2024). For families earning above this threshold, the scholarship amounts decrease as income rises.
[3]HB 186, passed by the Ohio Legislature in 2025, ends The Fair School Funding Plan and will significantly reduce funding for school districts.
[4] In Tax Year 2027, 170 districts could lose at least 10% of their property tax revenue, resulting in potential layoffs, larger classes, and fewer academic programs.
[5] Eliminating this funding, which helped rural and poor districts compete with wealthier ones, means underfunded schools will receive nearly $3 billion ($2,753,552,883) less. [6]Sources for this article:

WORKERS' Rights
Ohio’s working men and women deserve a fair deal — one built on respect, safety, and the freedom to negotiate for better wages and benefits. I believe employees deserve fair pay for honest work, safe job conditions, and the freedom to organize without fear or retaliation. I will fight to protect and strengthen workers’ rights because a strong workforce creates strong communities and a strong economy
As your State Representative for District 68, I will work to ensure teachers, firefighters, police officers, and public employees retain the ability to negotiate for the benefits they have earned. I won’t stop there — I’ll partner with unions and professional associations across the state to modernize labor laws, strengthen apprenticeship programs, and expand enforcement against wage theft and unsafe working conditions. Together, we can ensure that Ohio remains a state where hard work is valued, and every worker — public or private — has a voice in shaping their future.
Real progress happens when we bring people together — not when we pit workers against one another. That’s why I’ll fight for a Workers’ Bill of Rights that guarantees the freedom to organize, the right to fair pay, and the security of a dignified retirement. When we protect the people who build, teach, serve, and protect our communities, we strengthen Ohio for everyone.

Protecting the Most VULNERABLE

A society is judged not by how it treats the powerful, but by how it treats the most vulnerable. That includes our children, our seniors, our Veterans, and every person who falls through the cracks of a system that’s supposed to serve them. Too often, politicians talk about “efficiency” while cutting the very programs that keep people alive — healthcare for the sick, food support for struggling families, and therapy or housing for those battling trauma. We cannot — and will not — sell out the people who need us most.
As your State Representative for District 68, I will fight to ensure that no Ohioan is left behind. We must start with protecting and strengthening Medicaid expansion, providing healthcare to over three million Ohioans, including low-income workers, children, and persons with disabilities. We must increase funding for mental health services so that treatment and recovery are accessible in every community, not just in major cities. I will support state-backed homelessness prevention programs that focus on stability, housing first initiatives, and wraparound support for families on the brink of becoming unhoused. I will work to expand Veterans’ services and peer-support programs — ensuring that those who served our country have access to mental health care, career transition programs, and the dignity of stable housing.
We are only as strong as the community we build together. When we care for those struggling to get by — whether they are a single parent, a child with special needs, or a Veteran finding his way home — we build a society rooted in compassion and fairness. That’s the Ohio I believe in: one where we don’t look away, we step up — because every person matters, and every life has value.
Defending our RIGHTS
Our rights are not negotiable. They were written into the Constitution to protect every American — not to be traded away by politicians or undermined through executive power. Yet today, too many of our leaders have forgotten that they work for We the People. From due process and privacy to free speech and fair representation, the most basic liberties that define who we are as a nation are under attack.
Recent actions — from attempts to restrict birthright citizenship and expand government surveillance, to laws like House Bill 512 https://ohiohouse.gov/legislation/136/hb512 that, if enacted, will strip away workers’ rights — show a growing pattern of disregard for the Constitution. These aren’t isolated events; they’re part of a larger effort to centralize power, weaken accountability, and silence dissent. When leaders use their office to erode rights instead of defending them, they fail the people they swore to serve.
As your State Representative for District 68, I will fight to restore checks and balances, defend free speech and due process, and ensure that no law — state or federal — puts government above the people. I will work alongside community leaders, constitutional scholars, and everyday Ohioans to hold the line against corruption and overreach. Our rights aren’t partisan — they’re American. And if we do not stand up for them now, we may not get another chance.
A well-informed citizenry is the best defense against tyranny. – Thomas Jefferson
